Nasir Hussain Shah, the Sindh Minister for Energy, declared on Wednesday that Karachi-Electric (KE) will be sued if someone passes away from heatstroke during the current heatwave because the port city is subject to harsh weather.
Today, the temperature in Karachi was close to 40°C, while it was 48.5°C in Larkana. Officials said that although Karachi has not yet experienced a heatwave, the temperature is predicted to stay high.
Speaking from the floor of the provincial assembly, Shah said as much. In response to a question concerning hiring in the energy department of the Sindh government, the minister stated that personnel was hired based on need.
