Following economic forecasts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Fitch Ratings, investor sentiment soured, causing stocks to drop on Wednesday, ending a four-day gain streak.
The benchmark KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the day at 117,226.14, down 1,204.21 points, or 1.02%, from its closing value of 118,430.35. The index reached a low of 117,120.39 and a high of 118,811.24 during the day.
242.5 million shares were exchanged, and the total value of all traded shares was Rs18.6 billion.
