As tensions rise in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem, Israeli police sprayed “skunk water” on Palestinians heading out for Friday prayer, according to a report by Al Jazeera that quoted the Wafa news agency.
The overwhelming odor of the spray left the worshippers panting for air.
Israeli forces used rubber-coated metal bullets to crack down on worshippers, preventing them from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque and forcing them to pray in Wadi al-Joz.
70,000 Muslims pray on a typical Friday, but only 12,000 worshippers were able to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque to accomplish their prayers.
