A federal judge sentenced David DePape to 30 years in federal prison last month after finding him guilty of attacking Paul Pelosi, the spouse of the most prominent Democrat, in 2022.
A San Francisco jury on Friday also convicted DePape guilty of first-degree burglary, aggravated kidnapping, threatening a public official’s family, and falsely imprisoning an elderly person.
DePape was previously found guilty of trying to kidnap a federal official and beating a member of their family.
Days before the 2022 midterm elections, the assault on Mr. Pelosi was caught on police body camera footage, shocking US politics.
The 82-year-old had two head injuries at the time, including a fractured skull that required plate and screw repair.
The office of Speaker Pelosi released the following statement: “Speaker Pelosi and her family are still in awe of their pop’s bravery, which demonstrated itself once more on the witness stand during this trial, just as it did the night of the attack when he saved his own life.
