In the event that members of the ruling coalition resign over a ceasefire agreement, the leader of the largest opposition party in Israel declared on Monday that he would give Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu his backing in parliament to keep him in power.
Netanyahu has given his aides permission to start negotiating with Hamas, a Palestinian resistance organization, in an attempt to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza and free the Israeli captives who were taken on October 7.
Netanyahu’s administration may fall if the battle ends before Israel has destroyed Hamas and rescued the captives, as some of his far-right coalition allies have threatened to resign.
hostage”There’s a hostages deal on the table,” stated Yesh Atid party leader Yair Lapid during a meeting of his parliamentary unit.
