Balochistani security personnel have effectively stopped a major smuggling operation and seized a number of illicit goods. When authorities stopped and searched a container at a checkpoint in Kalat-Quetta, they found 400 tires, 250 fabric sacks, 500 blankets, and firearms and ammunition among other contraband.
In a different operation, 42 kg of ice meth and other drugs were seized by authorities in the Gwadar-Turbat region between June 9 and July 6. Nine goats, gutka, cigarettes, and betel nuts were among the other items confiscated.
The anti-smuggling efforts also led to the seizure of Iranian gasoline, clothing, cutlery, and auto components. The confiscated goods will be given to customs officers for appraisal.
Smugglers are said to have been removed from the Kuntani and Jewani districts by security authorities.
