Numerous youths packed the Holy Family Basilica to offer prayers for the deceased.
A few weeks prior, chants from had disrupted Sunday Mass.
The demonstration was a first of its kind from the youthful, tech-savvy Generation Z, or Gen-Z.
They believed that the church was not supporting their opposition to severe tax increases.
Bishop Simon Kamomoe now made an effort to persuade them that they had been heard.
“I understand that, as young people, you can experience disappointment even from the church,” he remarked.
