In the hospital, six of the kids and two of the adults who were attacked on Monday at the Taylor Swift yoga and dance program on Hart Street are still in severe condition.
The three other youngsters who were hurt are being treated in hospitals located throughout Manchester and Liverpool, although it is unknown exactly how they are doing, according to Merseyside Police.
According to the force, a 17-year-old lad from Banks, Lancashire, was taken into custody and is being suspected of both murder and attempted murder.
The community was cordoned off by police on Monday in a section just outside of Southport.
On Instagram, Taylor Swift expressed her disbelief and said the “horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously.”
Tuesday night was scheduled to see Southport FC play Morecambe FC in a preseason friendly.
But the club announced on Monday night in a post on X: “We have decided to cancel tomorrow night’s pre-season friendly with Morecambe FC out of respect to those who have so tragically lost their lives and to those who will be deeply impacted by this horrible tragedy. This decision was made in light of the tragic events of today and after extensive engagement with relevant local stakeholders.”
