Greg Barclay will be replaced as head of the International Cricket Council (ICC) by Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to a report published in The Age on Wednesday.
After Barclay, who has been chairing the ICC since November 2020, announced his resignation from his position to the administrative body’s directors over a video conference on Tuesday night, Shah appeared to be a strong contender for the top job.
After Shah said that he wanted to lead the ICC and claimed that other members supported him, Barclay made his choice.
“ICC Chair Greg Barclay informed the board that he will resign from the position and not seek reelection for a third term.
