Women’s lives are disproportionately impacted by the climate catastrophe, which is a serious problem that especially impacts vulnerable groups. Women are bearing the brunt of climate change in Pakistan and around the world, posing particular risks and vulnerabilities.
Women already confront severe social and economic challenges in Pakistan, where they are excluded. These problems are made worse by the climate catastrophe, especially in rural areas where women are mostly in charge of running houses, gathering fuel and water, and taking care of the young. The occurrence and severity of heat waves, floods, and droughts have increased, making these responsibilities much more difficult.
