Murtaza Khan and Ahmed Hassan were detained in Lahore by the FIA Cybercrime Circle for their roles in disseminating disparaging content on high-ranking officials.
The suspects were allegedly a part of a group that altered and posted offensive comments along with compromising photos of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on social media.
In accordance with the 2016 Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), the accused have been charged.
To ensure that no one is above the law when it comes to online harassment and defamation, the FIA has made clear how serious it is about pursuing tough action against those responsible for these kinds of cybercrimes.
