When Pakistani soldiers replied against unjustified cross-border firing from Afghanistan’s Pilwasin area in the early hours of Saturday, September 7, at least eight Afghan Taliban fighters were killed and sixteen others were injured.
News reported that sources connected to border security officials verified that Jan Muhammad and Khalil, two “key commanders” of the Afghan Taliban, were killed in the gunfight.
“Afghan Taliban opened fire towards Pakistani check-posts using advanced weaponry in Pilwasin on the morning of September 7.”
In addition to an increase in terrorist activity inside the country, Pakistan has also seen a notable rise in cross-border attacks by its neighbor that target security forces.
