After decades of success as a radio disc jockey in Southern California, Seacrest knows how to keep an audience fascinated. He will take the reins of “Wheel of Fortune” starting Monday night for the season 42 debut.
After landing the “American Idol” hosting job in 2002, he rose to fame. He later co-hosted “Live With Kelly and Ryan” with Kelly Ripa for several seasons before leaving morning talk shows to pursue his dream of being a primetime host after Pat Sajak announced his retirement in 2023.
Sajak was the longest-running host of any game show, having hosted the wheel-spinning program for 40 years. When he left the production, there was much conjecture about who would be able to carry on his legacy. News recently learned from brand expert Eric Schiffer that viewers of “Wheel” are in capable hands with Seacrest and his media wizard.
There will inevitably be setbacks, but in due course, Seacrest and co-host Vanna White will settle into a comfortable routine as they broadcast the popular game show.
