The performance report for the last eight months, which highlights notable advancements in immigration control and security, was made public by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration at Karachi airport.
The FIA detained 83 people who tried to travel with forged documents during this time, and they also apprehended 28 people who were found in possession of phony passports. According to the report, 55 people were also held on suspicion of possessing forged visas and being on the stop list.
In the course of eight months, the immigration process for almost two million passengers on 16,700 flights was successfully completed, according to the report.
The FIA has given the departure and arrival counters direct access to the Interpol database in order to improve the effectiveness and accuracy of immigration procedures.
