KARACHI: A committee has been established to look into the complaints of Seffy Soomro, a local artist from Sindh who says his paintings were taken and used in a drama series that is now airing on a pay channel.
Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, the minister for culture, tourism, antiquities, and archives in Sindh, made the announcement a few days after Soomro talked about finding his paintings in a famous drama after learning that they were thought to be lost at an exhibition.
Soomro, a native of Daharki in the Ghotki area of Sindh, spoke about his experience on social media and posted pictures of two artworks on Instagram. These were some of the sixteen or seventeen paintings he had completed for his thesis project.
