From 1987 to 1997, the actor gained popularity for his role as Don Brennan in the soap opera. Last Sunday, he passed away.
In a statement, Helen Worth, who portrays Gail Platt on Coronation Street on TV, paid respects to Hinsliff, stating, “We will all deeply miss Geoff, who was a lovely, quiet man.”
Hinsliff, a Leeds native, attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and made his Coronation Street debut in 1963 and 1977 playing various roles.
In 1987, he became a cast member as Don, the taxi driver.
After multiple business agreements went awry during his ten-year tenure on the cobbles, he tried murder and committed kidnapping before being eliminated.
Hinsliff debuted on television in a Z-Cars episode and went on to feature in films A Bridge Too Far, Brass, and Doctor Who.
In Heartbeat, he made his final television appearance in 2003.
