The Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner’s Office said on Tuesday that the radio host and hypeman passed away from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The 53-year-old’s death was determined to be natural.
Born Isaac Freeman III, Fatman Scoop was injured on August 30 during a performance at a summer event held at Hamden Town Center Park in Connecticut. New Haven is six miles away from Hamden.
Lauren Garrett, the mayor of Hamden, posted on Facebook that the rapper had a “medical emergency on stage” and that an ambulance was called to the hospital.
