The ongoing polio vaccination campaign in Pakistan has undergone a security evaluation by the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC).
Dr. Shahzad Baig, the NEOC Coordinator, presided over the meeting, which was attended by officials from the Pakistan Army, the Ministry of Health, and the police, among other government organizations.
The security issues that polio vaccination teams encounter around the nation were covered in the conference. It was mentioned that polio workers needed to be protected during the present campaign because they had previously been the target of militant attacks.
The NEOC has made the decision to send out more security guards to keep polio teams safe in high-risk locations.
