ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Ministry of Interior was able to successfully arrange for the repatriation of up to 56 Pakistani nationals who were detained in Sri Lankan prisons.
To transport the inmates back to Pakistan, a specially designed aircraft was sent out. 51 males and five women are among the Pakistani nationals that were repatriated.
The return occurred after three months of coordination between the Sri Lankan government and the Ministry of Interior, led by Mohsin Naqvi.
One of the women who had been repatriated spoke on the occasion and thanked the administration for bringing them back to the nation.
Another repatriation, who had experienced harsh circumstances while being imprisoned in Sri Lanka, expressed his happiness at being back in Pakistan.
