This is something that I’ve experienced as well.
Coaching club football is an enjoyable experience. You can actually grow and shape something unique. However, the amount of time and effort that is put into it season after season is astounding. I completely get why some coaches choose to halt and hit the restart button.
When you get the desired result or observe that organic development, it will have been worthwhile. All the hard hours that the coaching staff have put in, feels worth it.
But what is coach-friendly and sustainable?
Every season, the Women’s Super League (WSL) clubs face greater challenges in keeping up with the expansion of the sport. You need extra backroom staff now to support players. In the women’s game, a large portion of the blame rests on head coaches and managers if the team is underfunded.
Success in coaching comes at a price. It’s the effort and sacrifices you have to make in order to succeed. There’s rewards at the same time, but there is tension and strain associated with being a coach.
The women’s game is expanding in all directions. To ensure that the coaches produce the finest product possible, we must remember them and provide them with the best resources and assistance.
