Employees of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not permitted to attend demonstrations hosted by the outlawed Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM).
A notification from the KP chief secretary on Tuesday stated: “Participation, overt or covert, physically, financially, or otherwise, in any program or activity of a proscribed organization is unlawful and shall be acted against under the law. Employees of all government departments/attached departments/police/autonomous and semi-autonomous public sector institutions and their employees are informed, and stand informed.”
It made clear that the prohibited organization was not permitted to host the program, which the PTM referred to as a “court.”
This occurs two days after the PTM was prohibited by the Interior Ministry in accordance with the Anti-Terror Law. The party was accused by the federal government of “spreading anti-national sentiment.”
