In the “greater national interest,” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was encouraged on Sunday by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar to rescind its call for a demonstration on October 15.

The deputy prime minister’s statements coincided with the nation preparing to host the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on October 15 and 16. During the conference, important topics will be discussed within the framework of the SCO.

Speaking with reporters during his visit to assess preparations for the next CHG-SCO meeting, Dar stated that it was not healthy for the political party that had been reproducing the same situation from 2014 in terms of politics. The Chinese president’s visit had been rescheduled as a result of their protest.
