Workers at coal mines in Duki have held protests and stopped operations in a show of solidarity and demand for safety following a terrible occurrence that resulted in the deaths of 21 miners.
Following a shooting incident at the mines, requests for the attackers’ prompt arrest exploded into protests. The miners have expressed their displeasure with the insufficient security protocols in place and have vowed to keep up their protests until their safety is ensured.
A protesting miner expressed, “We will not resume work until our protection is ensured,” emphasizing the serious hazards that the miners face in the current climate.
The administration of Balochistan has responded to the event by starting a search operation with the goal of quickly capturing the attackers.
