The drama “Salgirah” (birthday), which was on display at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) in Karachi on Thursday, the 21st day of the current World Culture Festival, showed the audience the intricacies of a married relationship.
The drama explored the emotional terrain of a long-married couple who, after years of monotony, are forced to face their unfulfilled aspirations and social demands.
“Salgirah” considers the nature of relationships and wonders if the quality of love can surpass the number of years spent together as they go through their journey of separation.
The play gave a moving, thought-provoking representation of married life with powerful performances.
