Between 1978 to 1981, Di’Anno performed with the British band, appearing on both their self-titled debut album and its follow-up, Killers. She sung songs including “Remember Tomorrow,” “Running Free,” and “Sanatorium.”
On behalf of his family, the record company Conquest Records announced his passing on Monday.
It further stated that he passed away at the age of 66 at his Salisbury home.
“We are all very saddened to learn about Paul Di’Anno’s passing earlier today,” read a statement on Iron Maiden’s official X account.
Paul had a huge impact on Iron Maiden and helped put us on the course we’ve been on.
We, as well as fans worldwide, will always remember his groundbreaking performance as a frontman and vocalist on stage and on our first two albums.
We offer our sincere condolences to Paul’s family and close friends on behalf of the band, Rod and Andy, and the entire Iron Maiden crew. Paul, rest in peace.
