The bizarre psycho-comedy stage play “Khawboon Ki Nautanki” divided the audience with its complex humor on Monday, the 26th day of the World Culture Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi.
The 60-minute drama, which was written by Babar Jamal and directed by Uzma Sabeen, is set in Karachi and centers on two fascinating characters: a couple named Asad and Shiren. The play “Suppressed Desire” has been adapted into this.
Both of them have strong opinions about psychoanalysis, which is a treatment for different mental illnesses and a set of methods for examining underlying motivations based on the beliefs of Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud. They both have a strong interest in psychology.
The audience is taken on a funny and thought-provoking trip through the intricacies of the play as it progresses.
