HYDERABAD: According to Miftah Ismail, the secretary-general of the Awam Pakistan Party and a former finance minister, the current government is unlikely to serve out its constitutional term given the track record of the nation’s prime ministers, according to The News.
According to Ismail, no prime minister in Pakistan had ever served out their entire tenure, and the federal government would also not be able to hold office for very long since “it has not delivered.”
At a news conference for his party, which he founded with former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi following their disagreement with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) earlier this year, the former finance czar made the comments in Hyderabad on Sunday.
According to Miftah, Abbasi informed the PML-N that the actions were “not our politics.”
