ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has claimed that the entire state apparatus is violating both the Pakistani Constitution and the law in an effort to keep him and his party out of the election process.
The imprisoned former prime minister made this statement during a virtual conference in an audio speech that was generated using artificial intelligence and resembled his voice. It is said that the PTI founder personally dictated the speech’s notes to the visiting party members who were incarcerated.
He said that his party’s leadership and workers had been the target of multiple crackdowns since his dismissal. The “false flag operation” on May 9, 2023, he claimed, was the catalyst for the most severe crackdown. “There were over 200 cases on him and he had been incarcerated for over 180 days.”
Khan claimed that even female workers—the majority of whom were housewives and mothers—were imprisoned. He stated that Pakistan had never witnessed an attack on women of such scope and intensity from the state. He added that he and his party were to be kept out of the electoral process as part of the grand strategy hatched in London.
He expressed regret for the theft of his party’s election symbol and claimed that the nation’s ongoing political unrest has destroyed the economy and strained ties with neighboring countries.
“After everything else failed, our election symbol was again removed—this time by a bungled legal process—leaving our candidates to run as independents under hundreds of various insignia. Our nation’s economy is in ruins, and our neighbors in the region are no longer friendly because of the ongoing political unrest. We developed a foreign strategy centered on regional economic linkages throughout my tenure. We were actively pursuing this goal by reestablishing our connections with China, Russia, and the CIS states,” he stated.
