RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was placed on physical remand for five days on Thursday in connection with a vandalism case by an anti-terrorism court (ATC).
The development occurred during a case hearing at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, where the former prime minister has been detained for almost a year.
Hours after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted Khan bail in the new Toshakhana case concerning the purportedly unlawful selling of official gifts, Khan was taken into custody in the aforementioned case.
Following the September 28 PTI protest, which saw party members struggle with law enforcement (LEAs), a first information report (FIR) was filed against the former prime minister at the New Town police station.
