Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been detained at the Adiala jail since August of last year in eight instances involving the events of May 9, including the Jinnah House attack. His bail requests have been denied by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore.
ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul dismissed the former prime minister’s bail requests and gave the reserved judgment.
Charges in the instances included the burning of police cars at Rahat Bakery Chowk and Zaman Park, the arson and destruction at Shadman police station, and the attacks on Jinnah House and Askari Tower.
Imran was placed under physical remand for five days in a vandalism case earlier this month by Rawalpindi ATC.
