Afshan Jamali, a female lecturer in grade 17, was tragically killed by Karo Kari, a form of honor killing, in the New Saeedabad tehsil of Sindh’s Matiari District.
According to reports, she was shot at Bakar Jamalia Higher Secondary School by her husband, Imdad Jamali, who claimed she had an affair.
Imdad admitted to the police that he killed Afshan because he was unable to persuade her to break up her alleged affair with another guy.
He asserted that he did the crime because she would not alter her behavior.
Afshan’s father, Haji Muhammad Jamal, who resides in Dubai, has accused Imdad, his father Wazir Jamali, and brother Darya Khan of planning the murder and claiming that property greed was the driving force.
