Following the recovery of a child’s body from the river in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the death toll from the horrific Swat River event has increased to twelve.
Rescue 1122 Swat reports that the child’s body was discovered downstream in a different district after being carried away by floodwaters in the Swat River. After completing the necessary medico-legal procedures at a hospital, the body will be taken by ambulance back to his hometown of Mardan.
Searches for one missing person are still on, according to Rescue 1122.
On Friday, 17 members of a family from Sialkot were caught in a sudden and strong water surge while enjoying a picnic by the Swat River. As rescue crews hurried to the scene, they encountered many difficulties.
