ISLAMABAD According to The News on Wednesday, Omar Ayub Khan, the senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, resigned from his seat on the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), citing “multiple” formal complaints and court proceedings against him as the cause.
The politician nominated PTI Chairman and NA member Barrister Gohar Ali Khan to take his place on the commission after submitting his resignation to NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday with the date of December 3.
“This letter serves as my official resignation from the Pakistani Judicial Commission. This choice was made after giving it some thought, and it is required by the numerous FIRs and court actions that have been brought against me.
