On Sunday, Kuala Lumpur saw the successful arrival of the first shipment from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) that contained relief supplies for the victims of the terrible floods that hit Malaysia last month.
Thousands of families who were displaced by the natural catastrophe and are finding refuge in 633 evacuation centers will benefit from the first round of relief.
Nine individuals were murdered in the country’s floods, which also affected 137,410 people in 38 districts. The country is anticipated to be hit by heavy rains until February 2025.
The more than 40-ton humanitarian supplies includes sleeping bags, mats, tents, blankets, comforters, and life jackets.
