Karachi: In a startling occurrence, a rider for an online bike-hailing service was shot dead in broad daylight on Friday in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, for reportedly thwarting a robbery attempt.
News has footage from the horrifying crime scene that shows the armed attacker stopped the rider close to the city’s Munawar Chowrangi neighborhood.
The dacoits tried to escape after a verbal altercation and what seemed to be the rider’s looting, but the 40-year-old rider, who lived in Korangi, grabbed one of the robbers.
The attackers then started shooting at the motorcycle and, in spite of the heavy traffic, left the scene without being confronted.
