After a Christmas carnival ride “crashed to the ground” in Birmingham’s downtown, two men were taken into custody.
According to West Midlands Police, the two, who are 21 and 55 years old, were taken into custody on Thursday night on suspicion of impeding officers and perverting the course of justice.
They are still being held.
Eleven victims were evaluated by paramedics and released on the spot, while two women were transported to the hospital when the City Star Flyer ride “failed and crashed” at Centenary Square.
A cordon was expected to be in place all day, according to police, and officers will stay at the scene in Centenary Square to support a Health & Safety Executive investigation.
