SKARDU: According to authorities on Sunday, a car transporting many people was caught in a landslide near Skardu, killing at least five people.
According to Deputy Commissioner Arif Ahmed, the landslide caused the passengers to be buried, and rescue personnel found four bodies at the scene.
He added that an excavator and more rescue workers have been dispatched to clear the debris behind which the passenger car was trapped, and that the search is still ongoing in hopes of finding more bodies.
According to the authorities, the deceased was from Shengus village.
In another instance, a jeep traveling from Sharda to Kel crashed into a ditch in the Neelum Valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), killing three passengers.
