PESHAWAR: Citing the provincial administration’s inability to address the deteriorating situation in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has demanded the resignation of the government.
“Kurram is burning — what are the provincial and federal governments doing?” Governor Kundi said in a statement, criticizing both federal and provincial officials for their inaction.
He questioned why the government is unable to restore the Parachinar route, saying that it seems to have no other goals than holding onto power.
Leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), Allama Nasir Abbas, has also criticized the provincial government for the Kurram situation.
He disclosed attempts to replace the district’s deputy commissioner, claiming that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
