According to Turkiye Today, a blast at an explosives production facility in the Karesi area of Balikesir, Turkiye, on Tuesday resulted in at least a dozen fatalities and four injuries.
It stated that there was no reason to suspect sabotage and quoted the local governor as saying that the explosion happened at a facility in the province of Balikesir.
“There is information that 12 of our citizens died in the explosion that occurred in the factory in Karesi district,” stated Governor Ismail Ustaoglu of Balıkesir.
“The building fell after the explosion in the capsule production area of the facility. At this moment, all of our teams are present,” he continued.
Soon after, emergency personnel, including 112 fire and emergency medical teams, were sent to the scene.
