ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiators’ failure to meet their imprisoned party founder Imran Khan and submit written demands to the government has been blamed for the impasse between the two parties, sources told Geo News on Monday, amid no progress in the ongoing parleys between the PTI and the government despite two rounds of talks.
According to the sources, the government has cited the incapacity of the former ruling party to present a written charter of demands, which has caused National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to be reluctant to call a third meeting, while the opposition has claimed that Adiala jail authorities have denied them permission to meet Khan.
The current impasse follows months of increased political tensions between the two parties.
