ISLAMABAD: The nominations of 19 Pakistani ambassadors and consuls general to various nations will be approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to sources who spoke to News, the prime has received a summary from the Foreign Office about the appointment of new ambassadors.
The current Secretary of the Board of Investment (BOI), Rahim Hayat Qureshi, will be named ambassador to Brussels, the location of EU headquarters.
Abdul Hameed Bhutta will be named ambassador to Japan, and Asima Rabbani will be appointed ambassador to the Philippines.
Former Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri will be named ambassador to Indonesia. The ambassador to Ghana will be Najeeb Durrani.
