Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer to restart stalled negotiations with the government in an effort to defuse the political tension in the nation was turned down by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
After the Imran Khan-founded party withdrew from negotiations over the lack of judicial commissions to investigate the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, PM Shehbaz earlier today stated that the government was prepared to establish a parliamentary committee to continue talks with PTI.
Since the nation cannot withstand further harm, PM Shehbaz has stated that he wants to reduce political tensions and fully pursue the negotiations.
After three sessions with the ruling parties’ negotiation committee, the PTI unexpectedly ended the negotiations, claiming that the government had not established judicial commissions in the allotted seven days.
