DUBLIN: Thanks to an outstanding century from Muneeba Ali, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team defeated Ireland by eight wickets in the third and final Twenty20 International of the series on Sunday at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground.
Ireland, batting first, scored a respectable 155-4 in the 20 overs they were given. Orla Prendergast’s incredible unbeaten 64 off 46 balls, which included eight boundaries, served as the cornerstone of the hosts’ innings.
In a pivotal opening partnership of 50 runs, Prendergast’s innings was bolstered by opener Amy Hunter, who smashed 29 runs off 33 deliveries, including three boundaries and a six.
Gaby Lewis, the captain of Ireland, also made a significant appearance, scoring 36 runs off 22 balls and hitting eight boundaries.
