ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), disclosed on Thursday that efforts were made to stoke tensions between his party and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
After the political-religious party called the February 8, 2024 elections “rigged,” tensions arose between the ruling coalition and the leader of the JUI-F, who was instrumental in overthrowing the government of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2022.
The head of the JUI-F stated in an interview with reporters today, “An effort was made to split the opposition. There were political games played [in the nation].
Fazl reiterated his claims of “fraud elections,” claiming that members of the “dummy government” were unable to address the populace.
“People do not trust governments that lack public mandate,” he stated.
