On Monday, the embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) called on the judiciary to move quickly on issues pertaining to the 26th Constitutional Amendment and the rigging of the 2024 national elections, hoping for “wise decisions” that would benefit the nation.
PTI’s top leaders, Salman Akram Raja, Omar Ayub Khan, Shibli Faraz, and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, held a joint news conference in Islamabad on Monday where they presented these requests.
Gohar criticized the formation of a “Form 47” administration by destroying the majority and asserted that “one year has passed after the nation gave the mandate to the PTI.”
Although the courts have not made any announcements, the chairman of the former ruling party claimed that his party has filed 74 petitions regarding vote tampering during the polls on February 8.
