PESHAWAR: Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the head of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), has stated that Imran Khan is being offered the reversal of his disqualification in the wake of reports that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is attempting to negotiate through backdoor means.
“During the discussions [with the government], the founder of the PTI made no demands regarding the release of any [party] leaders. However, an opportunity to overturn his disqualification is actually being made within three months,” Raza stated on Tuesday during an appearance on Geo News’ “Capital Talk” show.
With Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur allegedly playing a major role in the attempt, the Imran Khan-founded party was once again exploring backchannel negotiations with the establishment, according to a well-placed source who spoke to The News.
