PESHAWAR: According to The News, disagreements have arisen inside the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) internal accountability committee regarding an investigation into claims of corruption against Babar Saleem Swati, the speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
The sources claim that a dispute arose over the investigation’s conclusions between senior attorney Qazi Anwar and committee member Brigadier (retd) Musaddiq Abbasi.
After Anwar gave senior attorney Salman Akram Raja access to the committee’s inquiry findings, the schism allegedly grew. This was deemed a breach of the committee’s code of conduct by the other members.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a committee member stated, “The report was intended to be submitted only to the PTI founder.” “Qazi Anwar did not consult the other members before sending the report to an outsider.”
