NEW DELHI: Following a horrific attack in the disputed Himalayan region that claimed the lives of over two dozen Indian citizens, students from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have reported harassment and intimidation in India, a student union said on Thursday.
In the most deadly assault on civilians in the occupied Muslim-majority region since 2000, gunmen on Tuesday killed 26 men, all Indian with the exception of one Nepali, in the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam.
According to survivors, the shooters only targeted men, avoiding those who could declare their beliefs in Islam, according to Indian media.
