After a “years-long struggle” with brain cancer, acclaimed filmmaker James Foley died at the age of 71.
The director has been fighting cancer for a long time. He was most recognized for his work on Who’s That Girl, which starred Madonna, and the Fifty Shades of Grey sequels, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
The Hollywood Reporter was informed that following “years-long struggle,” Foley had “died peacefully in his sleep earlier this week.”
Foley also collaborated with the Material Girl vocalist on her music videos for Live to Tell, Papa Don’t Preach, and True Blue under the moniker Peter Percher.
