The government of Sindh has declared its strong opposition to eateries and other businesses that refuse to accept debit and credit card payments from patrons.
According to The News, officials have threatened to take severe measures against establishments that do not provide this payment option to patrons, including eateries, shopping centers, coffee shops, and biryani centers.
The Sindh Consumer Protection Authority, which is part of the Bureau of Supply Prices, has already taken action to protect consumer rights by sending letters to a number of well-known eateries in Karachi’s Clifton neighborhood.
According to reports, legal action has been taken against these institutions after they received formal complaints for breaking the Sindh Consumer Protection Act of 2014.
